FEATURED SOLUTION

Self-adjusting chimney cowltype ZK-RK

The rotating head follows the wind direction and creates negative pressure at the flue outlet. This supports a steadier chimney draught while the low-resistance construction helps flue gases leave efficiently.

Designed for demanding conditions

✓ Solid-fuel boilers✓ Fireplaces and stoves✓ Pellet appliances✓ Gravity exhaust ventilation
!Not intended for condensing gas boilers.
BUILT TO SUPPORT THE WHOLE SYSTEM

What a correctly selected cowl can improve

Stable draught

Uses wind energy to support steadier flow at the chimney outlet.

Backflow protection

Helps reduce the risk of reverse draught during gusts and turbulence.

Weather protection

Limits rain and snow entering the chimney and supports drier flue conditions.

Quiet movement

A rolling-bearing mechanism supports smooth, stable rotation.

WHEN TO CONSIDER A COWL

A practical answer to difficult roof conditions

A technical adviser or chimney professional should confirm the final selection. A cowl is commonly considered when:

  1. 01The chimney draught is weak or unstable
  2. 02Wind turbulence repeatedly occurs at the outlet
  3. 03The building stands in a valley or near taller obstacles
  4. 04The flue needs better protection from moisture
  5. 05The property is exposed to wind zones II or III

SAFE INSTALLATION

A secure connection starts below the cowl

Before installation, the chimney must be unobstructed and in good condition. HENITOM adapters and transitions allow the cowl to be fitted to round, square ceramic and traditional masonry outlets.

01

Inspect

Check the flue, outlet and ventilation conditions.

02

Match

Choose the correct diameter, adapter and fuel application.

03

Secure

Mount the assembly stably and keep the service points accessible.

04

Maintain

Schedule regular inspection, cleaning and bearing checks.

Frequently asked questions

Will a cowl fix every draught problem?+

No. The appliance, air supply, flue dimensions, chimney height and outlet location must be assessed as one system. The cowl supports correctly designed installations.

Can it be fitted to a ceramic or masonry chimney?+

Yes. A correctly selected transition or adapter allows stable installation on round, square ceramic and traditional masonry outlets.

Is it suitable for a condensing boiler?+

No. This self-adjusting cowl is not intended for condensing gas boilers. Ask a technical adviser to select the correct terminal for that appliance.

Does the mechanism need servicing?+

Yes. The cowl should be inspected and cleaned regularly together with the chimney, and the rotating mechanism should be checked for free, quiet movement.
